Progress on the House

Here Keith is taking out the last of the floor in the "enlarging the entry" project. This is taken from the front door looking into the kitchen/dining area.

This is taken from the kitchen looking back at the entry. We still need to move the stairs. They will go down to the basement just between Keith and Tyler there. Then we'll frame in floor where the old stairs were.

Here's a shot looking down into the living room from upstairs. We can't believe how this little demo project has really opened up the living space! Exciting!!!

My New Overalls

Grandma and Grandpa brought me these overalls. They work real good for storing all my tools. Now I can be Daddy's handy helper.

Grandma was able to stay on with us after Grandpa left las Wed. and we are sure enjoying our time with her. Here we are trying out a new cafe for lunch! Yum, yum!

Daddy was knocking snow and ice off the roof Sat., so grandma was kind enough to pick me up so we could watch him out the window.

Here we are working on a new quilt for my bed. Grandma is a really good seamstress and that is one cool machine she has!

Wow, this is another really neat machine Grandma brought. I could spend hours watching this!

Eating My Oats

Sometimes Mom gives me a break from eggs and bacon and makes these yummy steel cut oats.

Sweet Potatoes and Elephants?!

What do sweet potatoes have to do with elephants?
A lot, I guess, in a 22 month old mind. I cut the swisted end off of a sweet potato and gave it to Tyler to entertain him for awhile while I peeled. He was really studying it, and then he began to raise his arm and make a trumpeting sound (the sign we've been using for elephant)! So I was the one who was really entertained!

A Good Day

The snow continues to fall, which brings a smile to our faces when we stare out the window at it from our cozy abode. This morning we ventured out over Teton Pass on our way to Idaho Falls. After an hour we had gone only 23 of the 100 mile trip. Our speed had picked up from 10 to 45 mph so we plugged our destination into the navigation system which calculated another hour and 42 min at that rate. It was already 9am, so we turned the Tribeca around in the blowing snow and headed back over the pass. All was not lost as Tyler had a nice morning nap in his car seat. He also enjoyed some very quality Daddy time today.

And of course, every good boy looks forward to a good treat at the end of a good day!

Tyler's Cure-all: Blow on it!

Lastnight we were out at a Mexican restaurant. As always we were enjoying our chips and salsa and chatting when Keith points at Tyler. There he was, half dipped chip in one hand, blowing on the little bowl of salsa! Just a bit to "hot" for him I guess!

Lately we've been using a small electric snowblower to clear our drive. Tyler loves to watch the process. Whenever we say, "guess I better go blow some snow," he starts puffing away like the Big Bad Wolf!

And of course these blowing skills do come in quite handy when Mommy hands him a bowl of porridge that really is too hot! He takes great pleasure in blowing on each spoonfull. Course now he's discovered something even more entertaining at the dinner table: whenever you're getting board or your food isn't tasting quite like you expected, just start snorting like a pig - it really gives Daddy and Mommy the giggles!
