Moms Breakfast

It's a new school year. The kids all have new groups which means new parents to get to know. 

This morning was the breakfast for the mothers of Kendra's classmates.

Only 6 could come. A very diverse and interesting group. None are native to Guadalajara. One speaks very good English. Two are brand new to the school. Four are unemployed, stay-at-home moms. Two work from home. I assume the rest are employed somewhere in the city which is why they could not attend a midmorning breakfast. The visiting was mostly about school, the commute, the administration, sports, arts, and a little about each mom's background. Very interesting.

A Baby Shower

Isreal and Yuliana are having another baby. It is expected to be a little boy. This will be their third.

It was so fun to be together with all the friends, young and old, moms and dads. There was a game for everyone, and everyone had a good laugh.

Dago and Mari were so generous to put this on in their back yard. It was good to be together anticipating the arrival of another little one in our spiritual family!

Jáuregui Convention 2022

 We left for Jáuregui convention early Thursday morning, September 1st. We traveled with our friends from Guadalajara in the suburban and the Toyota pickup. It took 12 hours including a few stops, but we made it in time for the evening meeting. 

We stayed with some friends on the hill above the convention grounds. Lovely guest house, air conditioning. Very pleasant nights.

The kids did all their playing in the evenings when it was cooler. They enjoyed a good soccer match on the roof one night.

A huge highlight for me was getting to spend time with my friend Laura. We grew up together in Montana and never in our wildest dreams did we think of meeting up in Mexico, much less living and laboring in Mexico. But here we are, and it felt good to be side-by-side for a few short days.

The Jáuregui experience just isn't complete without a walk to the river. It was running high this year because of recent rains. Muddy, but beautiful in its own unique way.

We left just after lunch on Sunday, and made it home around 1a.m. A long trip, but well worth it. So much work has been done in us at Jáuregui and it holds a very special place in our hearts.
