Catching Up

The last post saw us at Ronan convention in Montana.  After returning to Mexico, the kids still had 2 weeks of school to finish out the year.  The above pic was taken on the last day with their friends Dan and Natali.  There was an honors ceremony recognizing the students with the best grades.  Tyler, Boyd, and Natali were pleased to receive certificates in this ceremony.

The summer passed with much mango picking, gravel shoveling, bike riding, and recreating.

Jorge and Jose made the trip out from Guadalajara to visit us a couple times.  They hiked to Casa de Piedras with Keith and we all enjoyed our time together. 

We made several trips to Guadalajara to renew our temporary resident visas.  Sometime in July, we were accepted for 2-year visas.  Hard to believe one of those years is already passed.  If all goes well, we will renew again next July.

Aquarium Michin in Guadalajara

Last July we made several trips to Guadalajara to secure our temporary resident visas. Our immigrations attorney recommended Aquarium Michin, so we had to check it out.

In the entry, we stood on a balcony overlooking this pool of stingrays.  Later, we stood at the edge of the pool, dipped our hands in and felt the soft noses and bellies of the rays.

In a dark room, there were dozens of lighted cages and aquariums housing different types of reptiles and fish. 

Outside were several more open pools.  We got to touch starfish and sea anemones.  Tyler and Boyd also had their photo taken with a large snake and an iguana. 

In a large outdoor cage, we bought some seed and waited patiently for these little parrots to eat from our hands. Something super intriguing and satisfying about this.  I think we spent most of our time here :)

Back inside we watched these beautiful fish from under their aquarium.

 The last room contained a few more smaller aquariums with even more varieties of sea creatures.

We all thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the chance to photograph some of these beautiful animals.  Please come and visit us, so we have a good excuse to go back :)
