Baby Grady Has Arrived!

Grady Allan was born April 19th at 7:45am.  He weighed 7lbs. 7oz. and was 18.5 inches long.

Congratulations Uncle John, Auntie Karrie, Sarah and Emma!

A Very Special Visit!

Thank you Mom, Alison, Kyla, Colter, Maya, and Melita for sharing your Spring Break with us!  We enjoyed our time with you so much!  Here are a few memories I am treasuring in  my heart.

* Monte's excitement over meeting sweet baby Melita!

* Seeing all five older cousins snuggled in for the night in one room.  And their silly antics as they tried to settle in that first night.  There must have been 20 trips to the bathroom before all fell silent ;o)

* All the bright eyes around my breakfast table!

* Sledding on Snow King.  I sure enjoyed racing down the hill with you, Colter!

* Watching my sister in her element; enjoying her baby, loving her children, photographing, and sharing her talents.  Thank you for the tutorial on "My Digital Studio" resulting in the first picture on this post.

* Our trip to the library - for you, Kyla.  I love watching you enjoy reading.

* Holding Melita close while she fell asleep in the evenings.

* A very special Wed. evening study.

* Visiting with Mom, having her close, seeing her love and care for all of us, her smile, her happiness, her contentment.  I love my Mom!

* Dining out!  Thanks again, you guys, it was a real treat!

*Listening to you, Maya.  Your voice and personality remind me so much of one of my boys (Tyler).  And, by the way, you are an excellent harmonica player!

* A final treasured memory was watching my boys fall in love again with their cousins, their Auntie, and their Grandma!  We are so spoiled to have such wonderful family!

Marshmallow Snow!

A big marshmallow snow came down last night.

This morning our world was frosted pure white.

It piled on fences, on roof tops, and trees.

And covered our yard in soft blankets of fleece.

It's not so abnormal in this high mountain town.

To have snow in the Spring come fluttering down.

But it's so big and puffy, so thick and so creamy.

It sticks to branches, makes the landscape all dreamy.

The birds came 'round fluttering and hopping about.

And singing to try and stay warm, no doubt!

Mr. Robin sat down with a flit and a twitter.

And sang, "Oh the air, it has turned cold and bitter!"

"Can someone please tell me what happened here?"

"My whole body's in danger of freezing, I fear."

Yet they sang, and they twittered, and they flew all around.

Hardly stopping to pose, hardly touching the ground.

And just look at these two funny young fellows.

They really thought they were tasting marshmallows!

They couldn't wait to open the door and rush out,

To a world full of snow and flakes swirling about!

Five Years Old!

 Tyler woke up feeling like a very big boy today.  His Daddy sang Happy Birthday to him before heading off to work.  Then, he waited ALL day for his birthday supper, cake, and gifts.

These three put Lego's together till an hour past bedtime.  It was hard to drag them away!  What a happy evening and a very happy birthday for our big 5-year-old!
