Our littlest man turns two today! Hard to believe two years have flown by so fast. We took last evening to celebrate. Boyd was excited, but in a not-so-sure-why sort of way. Tyler was very, very excited, and the house was bursting with energy! My attempts to make Boyd a Thomas Train cake flopped, so we had to settle for cupcakes. Oh well, no one complained. Here are a few pictures of the evening.

We took care of a special little girl yesterday morning. This picture gave me a "flash forward" to next spring. I hope Boyd still enjoys sharing the jogger with our little one by then! 
Jessi and Deysi had swimming lessons in the morning, then we had a nice lunch and visit together.
Thanks for sharing time with us guys. Can you tell which two became good buddies?
A little pregnancy update:
We took advantage of the lingering snow last Saturday and tried out my new back country set-up (the skis we found at a garage sale this spring). We parked at a place called Lupine Meadows, strapped on our gear and headed for the hills. 
Tyler rolls out for the picture. The boys had a comfy ride in the sled and enjoyed themselves more than we expected.

Bear tracks! Though we both were carrying bear spray, the tracks were fresh enough we decided to turn around here.
Back country skiing is so much fun. You can't glide like you can with cross country skis, but you can just about go anywhere, especially up hill. I hope we can do more of this next winter.
This was Boyd's position when we reached the car. It wasn't a very long outing, but just right to get us all tired out for a good nap when we returned home. I have to apologize for all the people pictures, but there was very little in the way of dazzling nature scenes. Not even a wild flower poking through - and the skies were pretty gray. We'll have to wait a few weeks for that.
We had a break in the weather this evening, and just enough time for a short run. Actually Keith is the only one running. I'm tagging along on the bike and the boys are snuggled in the chariot. I took this picture with his Blackberry. Interesting how the elk have come back down to the refuge now. Are they thinking the cold temperatures will be lasting awhile? Hmmmmm... 
This is Boyd's favorite question, or should I say suggestion! So many times I'll finish telling him what we're going to do and he'll add, "And then we'll go for a walk?!" Lately I've been dragging my feet because of the cold wind, or rain, or snow. But the boys pay no mind to the weather. There memories must not go back far enough to remember warm summer breezes. They just love being outside, walking, digging, poking at things, stepping on worms, and breathing the fresh air! And, of course, I feel quite refreshed after a good walk too! We really should do this more often!
I decided to start with where my Memory Lane begins - in the early 80's. This picture of my sister and I jogs my first memories of childhood. Memories of being very close to my sister. Memories of people always asking if we were twins, and my sister sulking about that! Memories of Mom making us new dresses for special occasions. I can still see her hands trembling as she hurried to hem the last seems before she packed them into our suitcases for convention!
And this picture brings the beloved memories of my sweet brother to mind. Memories of him lying on his back on the living room floor while I sat next to him and fed him his bottle. Memories of his sweet, patient disposition as we sisters tried our best to mother him. And memories of all three of us getting so excited to see "Daddy's" pick-up coming down the long driveway, watching out the big picture window in the living room till he got out and walked toward the house, then diving into the coat closet and waiting for him to come find us after greeting "Mommy" with a kiss!
I wouldn't trade these memories for anything!
