March Meanderings

Technically, this was the last day in Feb. We enjoyed a beautiful day of x-country skiing in Teton Park with Borgman's and Uncle John. Boyd hung out in the backpack with his goggles on and warmers on his hands and feet - he slept most of the time. Tyler rode in the sled most of the way, but did get on his skies for a half mile or so on the way in.
Tyler's not a big fan of x-country skiing yet ;o) He did enjoy the sled ride though.
View on the way in to the Lucas-Fabian cabins - our favorite spot to stop for lunch.

Soaking up the sun!

Truckin' back out.

Borgman's and John and Ellen had stayed at our house Fri. night, and we had a wonderful time. After skiing, we came back for a wonderful dinner already on the table (thanks to Ellen) and then parted ways. We packed up and took off for Blackfoot and spent Sat. night at Larry and Liza's. It was so wonderful to sleep in Sun. morning and only have to walk upstairs for meeting. There was a potluck following, then g-meeting, then back home again. Exhausting, but wonderful weekend.

Here we are Tues. March 3rd. Paul & Janis invited us to join them and their WI friends on a sleigh ride up at Spring Creek Ranch. Their neighbor runs the rides and was our driver. What a spectacular view we had from the top!

And what a treat to have Connie and Robin back! Here we are after the Thur. eve. meeting in Alpine. The girls had worked up quite an appetite with all their studying, and Tyler wanted to join in the fun.

Friday morning we signed up for another sleigh ride. This time to tour the Elk Refuge. Here's Connie, Boyd, and Robyn waiting at the visitor's center.

Lunch at The Merry Piglets and a little B-day treat for Connie - fried ice cream! Yummy! We were sad to let them go again, but glad they'll be returning again in a few weeks. We had surprise visitors Fri. afternoon: Keith & Deanna S. and their kids from Cody. They were in town for their suns ski races. Paul and Janis returned in the evening for Branson's Hockey tournament and we all went out to eat together that evening. P & J and family stayed with us Sat. night and we enjoyed watching ski races and hockey games with everyone on Sat. Sun., we were off to I.F. again, meeting, lunch @Wadkin's, g-meeting, and back home again. Another exciting and exhausting weekend!

Paul's birthday was yesterday, so the kids stayed here while they went to dinner. We made a cake and these eager little bakers had a ball decorating it!

Whew! Makes me tired just reading about it! :)
I was amazed at how much John looks like his dad. And he was always one to be out skating or skiing, too. Very special memories.
