Remodel, Visitors, and Hiking

We are so happy to see progress on the remodel project. Above is a shot of the finished kitchen cabinets. Below is the new hand rail. Keith designed it and Joe and Kevin made it happen! Also below are pictures of progress in the basement.

One lucky Dad.....or not! Tyler gave Keith a wonderful massage a week and a half ago. Keith's back had been hurting ever since the gunny sack races at the reunion. Unfortunately, when he got up, his back cramped up and all he could do was crawl up the stairs to bed! He has recovered quickly though, and we are getting him a little more exercise to strengthen those back muscles ;0)

What a privilege to experience a little of Norway recently. Tori and her Norwegian sister stopped by on their way through and spent a night with us. They made Norwegian pancakes Sunday morning and shared this Norwegian goat cheese with us. You just put a little jelly on your pancake, a few slices of the cheese, role it up, and cut slices off the end to eat - delicious!

A walk downtown - Tori and Tyler.

Lunch at The Merry Piglets. Benson (left; visiting from Maryland), Tori, Ida, Tyler, Me and Boyd. We are sharing a huge serving of fried ice cream since Ida had never heard of such a thing.

Relaxing.

Feelin' punchy.

Last Tuesday evening we packed a picnic lunch, stuffed Boyd in the backpack and began the long trek up Snow King. It was just the three of us at first until Keith got off work and caught up with us. Tyler told me as we started out, "I have strong feet, Mommy, to carry me up the hill!"

Pit stop.

Tyler made it to within a 100 yards of the half-way point at which time we sat down to eat our supper. Dining with a view!

Thursday evening we set out again, this time a bit earlier. Tyler chugged up the mountain like a champ and this time we made it to the top!

The beautiful ride down.
Hope all is well with everyone. Sometime soon, I hope to post pictures of our flying trip North for Uncle Norman's Funeral.
