New Years In Montana - Part 2

We left Kalispell on the 3rd of January, crossed the snowy mountains and headed out into the Big Sky country.  First stop: Great Grandpa and Grandma Benjamin's in Shelby.  They recently moved from the farm into town, and it was fun to see them in their new setting - very much like their old setting, only shrunk to a more manageable size.

The jeepnee (sp?), the golf cart, an old restored tractor and two cars all fit nicely along with the contents of Grandma's fruit room in their new garage.

Grandpa's shop has a nifty new office where he has set up this model train.  He is studying this locomotive as part of his new project.....

.....a life size locomotive (well Volkswagen size anyway) complete with rubber tires so it can be driven down the street!  How cool is that?!

Next stop: Uncle Dale and Aunt Kari's.  First order of business: a ride in Uncle Dales truck!  I think Boyd found his new passion - farming.

Arriving at the elevator.

 Snuggled in the sleeper.

A beautiful morning on the farm at Devon.  Dale and Kari have recently moved into the "house on the hill" and this is the view from their living room.  Keith grew up in this house, and he thoroughly enjoyed a little trip down memory lane as he sat in various places in the house and went for a walk around the farm.

The dining table where Keith shared many meals with his family.  We are sharing one with Rowena and Mari.

A walk around the farm begins here on the path between Dale and Kari's and G & G old house which is now occupied by Roy and Kalee.

It was hard to leave as we just didn't have enough time.  I think we could have spent another week and still not finished reminiscing and visiting.  I guess that leaves us with good reason to return again.....hopefully soon!
