Toddler Talk

Mommy! Look, Baby Boy is eatin'!"
This is just one of the many statements Tyler has recently come up with that have kept us quite amused. A few more follow:
"Daddy, lay down you heavy burden!" He repeated this several times while pushing down on the bottom of the recliner where Daddy was trying to relax one evening.
"Mommy, should we cean off my ficky stingers?" - after a snack of bread, butter, and honey.
"Hi. Sawwy I missed yo caw." - said very seriously with Daddy's calculator held up to his ear. He has also been known to say this while holding a potato chip up to his ear at the lunch table, obviously very tired and needing his afternoon nap!
"Don't touch da heatew, Mommy! It is REAWY, REAWY HOT! Do you undewstand?"
"Was dat me, Daddy?" - he's been saying this now every time he passes gas - better watch it Daddy, he's mimicking everything you do. Of course Mommy would never do that ;0)
"I have a head ache. I need some of dat." - pointing at the tasty-pink Pepto-Bismol bottle.
And this one takes the cake for me: A while back we were sitting down to lunch with Daddy and I said to Tyler, "ask Daddy how his morning went. Say, 'Daddy, how'd your morning go?'" And so he did and Daddy said, "My morning went fine. Thank you for asking, Tyler!" Tyler was very pleased with himself and the next day as we sat down to lunch he looked at Daddy and said very sweetly, "So, Daddy, how'd your morning nap go?" Needless to say we burst into laughter! So that's what you do all morning when you "go to work." Well, now we know!
