Monte turned one year old on the 15th. Hard to believe. Twelve short months ago I was cuddling a tiny, vulnerable, tired, little new-born. Now I struggle to keep a safe grasp on this wiggly, strong and healthy, almost-toddler. Where has the time gone?!
I remember Tyler and Boyd getting used to their new baby brother. It took time for them to adjust. Now there is no question of their love and care for him. When we set the cake on his tray, Monte was very still and focused on the candle. We started singing and I snapped a couple pics. Then suddenly, like a little kitten, he shot out his hand to try and capture the flame! We gasped and blew out the candle! He burst into tears! Later we determined he was more upset that we quit singing and blew out the candle than he was about his little fingers which appear to be unharmed. Through the whole episode, Tyler and Boyd were very concerned. Tyler tried to comfort him while Boyd told me it might be a good idea to just set the cake on the table next time ;o)

Cute pictures of Monte's first birthday! Wow! It doesn't seem like that long ago we heard the great news of his arrival! It's gone quickly! :) I too love the picture of the 3 brothers - special!
looks like a fun celebration! I think the 1st year goes faster with each subsequent child ~ probably because we're just that much more busy! <3

Happy Birthday little Monte! The kids and I were just remembering when we came there when he was 6 months and Lita was 6 weeks and he was jumping in his playstation. Now Lita is almost 8 months and jumps in her playstation and Monte is a year and has moved onto bigger and better things. I think this made the kids realize how fast their little sister and cousins are growing. Me too! Kinda sad but like you said they are healthy and we can be so thankful. Love you and miss you and hope you have a wonderful weekend with Mom and Dad and Grandma!
