The above pics bring a smile to my face and a tug at my heart. This was the day we helped move our friends to Montana. They've been gone for a month now and we miss them very much! But I smile to see the kids having so much fun, so much in their own little worlds, so unaware of the circumstances of the day. You might notice Tyler's swollen forehead. His reaction to the first mosquito bite of the summer.
Tyler's first Field Day. This was a huge event. Over 800 kids organized into teams, circulating around a large field, participating in fun/competitive events. Each team had at least one student from each grade, k-5. Tyler, being the youngest received much help and direction from his older teammates!
Graduation Day! On the last day of kindergarten, we met Tyler's class at the park. The kids played, ate treats, and then received their diplomas in a little graduation ceremony.
Tyler's first piano recital. He played a birthday song from his lesson book and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star. Both from memory. I wish I had video; you'll just have to imagine the tunes being played very methodical and rhythmic and very serious.
Father's Day 2012
Cody Convention - you simply had to be there.
A wonderful afternoon with friends and relations.
The last Thursday in June, we completed our first Kiddos hike. They are every Thursday throughout the summer and are geared for moms and kids. This one was in Grand Teton National Park, starting at String Lake, meandering up to Leigh Lake for lunch, and then back again (~3 miles total). We were a little slow, as our hiking legs were yet weak, but we had a good time. It was refreshing to get out and enjoy nature at a kid's pace.
I realize now there were other friends that visited, and though we didn't capture them on camera, we sure enjoyed our time with them. Julie and David visiting from Oklahoma and Sweden. Interesting visits, good fellowship.
And the summer marches on. It is shaping up to be one of the best yet. More posts to come.
