Thanksgiving Travels: Day 3 - Accommodations

Before I post about Day 4, I just have to say a bit about our food and lodging.  The above picture was snapped as we were entering Bob and Susanne's flat; what they sometimes refer to as Park Parnassus.  That is the clever name they give their apartment complex when they are entertaining company because sometime in order to make things comfortable for their guests, they move into their neighbor's (friend's) guest room.  And visa verse, they're friends do the same.  Since the apartments are compact, they have figured out how to be very efficient with their space.  There are only four rooms.  A kitchen, living, bedroom, and bath.  The living and bedrooms each have walk in closets large enough to fit a full mattress.  So they have ingeniously added Murphy beds to each of these rooms which completely fold up and out of the way in the closets!
They were so gracious to give us their entire apartment and move in with their friends.  We truly had the best accommodations in San Francisco!
And now about the food.  Bob and Susanne eat very healthy, and were such an inspiration in this department.  They live in a wonderful climate for being able to eat fresh, locally grown produce year round and for that, I must say, I was a bit envious.  Just down the street is a little grocer which carries organic produce and some awesome organic, non-homogenized dairy products.  And a few blocks farther is a plethora of bakeries and restaurants, serving the tastiest foods of all ethnicity's.  We wished we had more time to try them all!

WOw, that would be neat to live in a place where you could just pick something healthy and it'd be the norm, not the exception! I am enjoying your photos very much! Thanks for sharing!
