We stopped at a fish market in Bodega Bay for a tasty seafood Thanksgiving dinner. This shrimp salad was the best part of the meal. Shrimp scampi, avocado, cucumber on lettuce with thousand island dressing. The rest was an assortment of fried seafood. Good, but not extraordinary if ya know what I mean. I did miss the steaming turkey with mashed potatoes and gravy, the stuffing, the pumpkin and pecan pies, and the smiling faces of my extended family and friends around a beautifully set, overflowing table. Ah well, can't have it all.
A beautiful sunset along Hwy 1 as we made our way up to Fortuna for the night. We saw a few small groves of redwoods in the glare of the headlights as we maneuvered around the 10mph curves and up and down the steep hills, but little did we know what we were in for the next morning.
