Tere has been caring for some flowers on the grounds. She has these ones in a shady place and says she hardly needs to water them. The lady who lived here, Cecilia, loved flowers, especially these red poinsettias.
The kids had so much fun finding all the different kinds of leaves and nuts and bugs!
They also had fun helping with the sweeping. In Wyoming we shovel snow, in Mexico we sweep dust and leaves!
There are at least two lime trees on the property, two varieties of oranges, mangos and avacado trees, coconut trees and some others I don't remember the names of.
Aloe vera anyone?
Exploring all the nooks and crannies.
Thursday afternoon we went with one of the friends who is a farmer. His name is Salvador, but he goes by Chavo. He is a quiet man and knows no Enlish, so it was interesting to communicate with him. Tyler was a big help interpreting. Chavo took us in his pickup, Keith and the boys in back, Kendra and I in front. First we filled up the water tank in the back of his pickup. Then we drove out to the mountains to fill the water troughs for his cows. He has a small herd, but 14 are expecting calves soon. The air in the mountains smells so fresh and the views were very nice.
